«Yannis, el nen que no plorava» is the children's picture book by Josep Albanell Tortadès, published by Edicions Baula in hardcover (40 pages, in Catalan).
Yannis is a migrant child who arrives with his family from across the ocean. On the day they must set sail, saying goodbye to his relatives and friends causes him deep sadness: he does not know if he will ever see them again. The author builds a tender, moving and imaginative story about people who must leave their land out of necessity.
Volume 35 of the Capsa de contes collection. Illustrated by Montserrat Tobella Soler.
Aimed at a children's and young adult audience, it treats migration from an emotional perspective.
