«Yo fui Johnny Thunders» is a crime novel by Carlos Zanón, published by RBA Bolsillo in paperback (320 pages, in Spanish).
Francis, also known as Mr. Frankie, once lived in a time when rock'n'roll set the rhythm of his dreams, but that life is behind him. Back in the neighborhood where he grew up, he tries to start over and do things right, though neither he nor the neighborhood are the same. Unsettled accounts from the past demand payment.
Yo fui Johnny Thunders was originally published in 2014; this RBA Bolsillo edition, part of the Ficción collection, appeared in 2018. The novel won the Dashiell Hammett Prize in 2015.
A work for crime fiction readers interested in the rock scene and in stories of redemption and second chances.
