«Yo, simio» is the young adult fantasy novel by Sergio Gómez, published by Anaya Infantil y Juvenil in paperback (128 pages, in Spanish).
Simio is a primate raised in a zoo who has never understood his captivity or his own identity. After escaping, he tries life in the city: he goes through begging, working as a gardener and a butler, and discovers photography and reading. His journey raises the question of how far it is worth renouncing oneself to be accepted.
The work belongs to Anaya's Espacio Abierto collection, where it appears as number 119; it was originally published in 2006.
For young people aged 12 and up and readers of young adult fantasy looking for stories about identity and freedom.
