«Zigzag 1» is the French method for children by Hélène Vanthier and Sylvie Schmitt, published by CLE International in paperback (71 pages, in French).
The manual proposes a journey through the French-speaking world with Félix, a reporter blogger; Lila; Madame Bouba; the wolf Tilou; the hedgehog Pic and the owl Pirouette. Designed for beginners, it combines play with oral practice: the included audio CD brings together songs and rhymes, and downloadable vocabulary cards and a portfolio are offered.
First level of the Zigzag method; its content is aimed at level A1.1 and the course provides for 40 to 60 hours. It takes an action-oriented, intercultural and interdisciplinary approach.
Designed for children starting French; its oral and playful orientation fits into early language courses.
