«Zip's Apollo» is Philip Ridley's children's fantasy novel, published by Puffin in paperback (320 pages, in English).
Zip moves with his mother and little brother, Newt, from the woods to New Town, where even the trees are plastic and magic seems lost. When they bring home a shopping cart that talks to them, they call it Apollo and discover they can still see the extraordinary in the everyday, coming to terms with a loss.
Recommended for readers ages 9 to 11, especially for those seeking an emotional fantasy about family and loss.
Philip Ridley is an English playwright, filmmaker, writer, and multi-disciplinary artist. He has produced works in a wide variety of mediums and genres, and has self-described as a "storyteller".
