Michel Benoît adopted his pen name from the abbey of Saint-Benoît-sur-Loire, where he lived as a monk for twenty-two years. Before dedicating himself to literature, he earned a PhD in Pharmacology and worked in the banking sector. His debut work, 'Prisoner of God', became an international bestseller by chronicling his monastic life. His literary career covers a wide range of topics, from suspense and fiction to chess and theology. After leaving the Catholic Church due to his non-conformist views, he devoted his life to research and writing.
