Biography

Eduardo Chillida Juantegui was a Spanish Basque sculptor notable for his abstract works.

Eduardo Chillida began his professional career as a soccer player before becoming one of the most influential sculptors of the 20th century.

His masterpiece, the Comb of the Wind, is an iconic symbol of his hometown, San Sebastián, where iron dialogues with the power of the sea.

Although world-renowned for his monumental sculptures, Chillida also excelled as a prolific printmaker, illustrator, and draftsman.

The artist explored abstract art deeply, managing to make heavy materials like iron and concrete convey a sense of lightness and space.

Throughout his life, Chillida left a legacy of nearly fifty works that invite reflection on tolerance and encounter.
