M.W. Craven was born in Carlisle and grew up in Newcastle, where he began a life full of adventure.
At the age of sixteen, he joined the army, which allowed him to travel the world for a decade.
His professional experience as a probation officer gives him a unique perspective for writing about criminals.
After sixteen years working in the justice system, he decided to leave it all behind to focus entirely on writing.
He currently lives in Carlisle with his wife and his dog, enjoying a quiet life away from the courts.
