Flora Kidd was born in Liverpool in 1926 and was the youngest of four children.
She graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1949, where she met her husband, Robert Kidd.
She began her writing career after reading several romance novels and deciding she wanted to try her hand at the genre.
She published her first novel, Visit To Rowanbank, in 1966 through the publisher Mills and Boon.
Throughout her prolific career, she wrote a total of 86 works, focusing primarily on the romance genre.
