Isaac Asimov was an American writer and professor of biochemistry at Boston University. During his lifetime, Asimov was considered one of the "Big Three" science fiction writers, along with Robert A. Isaac Asimov was a prolific author who wrote or edited a total of 1447 works throughout his life.
Although born in Russia, he emigrated to the United States at age three and grew up helping in his family's candy store.
He taught himself to read at the age of five and began writing his own stories by age eleven.
In addition to his career as a science fiction novelist, he was a distinguished biochemist and university professor.
He used the pseudonym Paul French to publish some of his literary works.
