Mary Wollstonecraft was a pioneering British philosopher and writer who advocated for rational equality between men and women.
Her most famous work, A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, argues that women's perceived inferiority is merely a result of a lack of education.
Throughout her prolific career, she wrote everything from novels and children's books to travel narratives and historical treatises.
In her writings, she envisioned a social order based on reason where both sexes are treated as rational beings.
She used the pseudonym Mr. Cresswick to publish some of her works during the eighteenth century.
