Jean Bruller was a multifaceted French artist who excelled in illustration and engraving as well as writing and playwriting.
Under the pseudonym Vercors, he published his most iconic work, Le Silence de la Mer, during the German occupation.
He was an active member of the French Resistance and co-founded the clandestine publishing house Les Éditions de Minuit.
Although he originally trained as an electrical engineer, his true calling led him to become a renowned graphic artist and cartoonist.
His literary work deeply explores historical and moral themes, especially those linked to the Second World War.
