«Ivan the Terrible Part 2» is the movie by Sergei Eisenstein (1959), starring Nikolai Cherkasov and Serafima Birman, on DVD.
Second part of Eisenstein's diptych about Ivan IV of Russia: the tsar, increasingly suspicious, faces the boyars' conspiracy and betrayals at his court. It combines black and white with color sequences and a visually powerful mise-en-scène to portray power and political violence.
