«La noche del cazador» is the 1955 movie by Charles Laughton, starring Robert Mitchum, Shelley Winters and Lillian Gish, on DVD.
After a robbery in which two people die, Ben Harper hides the loot and entrusts the secret to his children, John and Pearl. In prison he meets Harry Powell, a false preacher with «LOVE» and «HATE» tattooed on his knuckles. Upon release, Powell seduces the widow Willa and marries her to get his hands on the money.
