O Jerusalem is a drama film that recreates the historic struggle surrounding the creation of the State of Israel in 1948. The story centers on two young American friends, one Jewish and the other Arab, and is narrated from the perspectives of Jews, Arabs, and British. The film addresses themes of courage, terrorism, deprivation, politics, and morality, as the characters risk their lives in the fight for control of Jerusalem. Based on the novel by Larry Collins and Dominique Lapierre, the film offers a rich context for an explosive conflict that resonates in the current situation in the Middle East.
