«The Damned United» is Tom Hooper's 2009 sports drama movie, starring Michael Sheen, Timothy Spall and Colm Meaney, on DVD.
The film recreates Brian Clough's 44 days as manager of Leeds United, then champions of the English league, following Don Revie's departure. Without his assistant Peter Taylor and facing a locker room loyal to his rival, Clough clashes with the team's playing style. The film alternates this period with his earlier stint at Derby County and portrays his brilliant, proud and self-destructive character.
Feature film of 98 minutes, released by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Includes English audio tracks with description and subtitles in English and Hindi.
Suitable for those interested in 1970s English football and sports biopics with psychological depth.
