Viridiana is a 1961 Spanish-Mexican drama film directed by Luis Buñuel and starring Silvia Pinal, Francisco Rabal, and Fernando Rey. The plot follows a young novice who, after being persuaded to visit her uncle, faces a series of events that challenge her beliefs and lead her to question her religious vocation. The film, winner of the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival, is a scathing critique of religious hypocrisy and social conventions.
