«At Ease with Coleman Hawkins» is the jazz album by saxophonist Coleman Hawkins, released in 1991 on CD by Original Jazz Classics.
On «At Ease with Coleman Hawkins», the saxophonist offers a relaxed and melodic recording, focused on ballads and smooth rhythms rather than the complexity of bebop. With Tommy Flanagan on piano, Wendell Marshall on bass and Osie Johnson on drums, the quartet displays a warm and elegant sound.
The original session was recorded in 1960 for the Moodsville label and this edition is a reissue.
For fans of swing and instrumental music who appreciate the tenor saxophone in its melodic vein.
