Recording of arias and choruses from Bach's St Matthew Passion, with Kiri Te Kanawa, Anne Sofie von Otter, Anthony Rolfe Johnson and Tom Krause as soloists, alongside the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and its chorus, conducted by Sir Georg Solti. The cover reproduces a biblical scene of Christ carrying the cross, in keeping with the sacred character of the work.

Recommended for fans of Baroque classical music, great sacred choral works and Solti's orchestral interpretations.
