«Balkan Merak» is the album by the group Slonovski Bal, released in 2003 on the Coast to Coast label, on CD.
Balkan Merak is a fusion proposal between Romani music and kolo, within folk and world music. The record combines Balkan sonorities with a traditional-rooted approach and an ironic touch, as reflected in the cover illustration with an anthropomorphic elephant.
The album was produced by Bal Bazar Production and distributed by L'autre Distribution, and received the Bravo Trad Mag award.
For listeners of world music and Balkan folk interested in the fusion of Romani traditions.
