«Cantos del alma / Sinfonía a Granada» is the album by Lorenzo Palomo, released in 2008 on the Naxos label, on CD.
The album brings together two works by Lorenzo Palomo: «Cantos del alma», for soprano, clarinet and orchestra, on poems by Juan Ramón Jiménez, and «Sinfonía a Granada», for soprano, guitar and orchestra, with texts by Luis García Montero and echoes of Arabic, Hebrew and flamenco melodies. It includes «Pájaro del agua» and «Subiendo a la Alhambra».
Performers are María Bayo, José Luis Estellés, Vicente Coves and the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, conducted by Jean-Jacques Kantorow. Recorded at the Auditorio Manuel de Falla, in Granada, in June 2007.
