«Chopin Symphony Jazz Project» is the album by Warsaw Paris Jazz Quintet and Perfect Girls & Friends, released in 2010 by Blue Note Agencja Artystyczna on CD.
The ensemble takes Chopin pieces —such as the Ballade in G minor Op. 23, the Scherzo in B minor Op. 20, or several mazurkas— and turns them into symphonic jazz tracks with quintet, orchestra, and voice. Highlights include «Amber Voyage», «New Ballad», and «Longing», where the Chopin base opens up to improvisation.
The CD was presented in a digipak; the lineup includes Marc Thomas, Robert Majewski, Paweł Perliński, Andrzej Łukasik, and Sebastian Frankiewicz, with the orchestra conducted by Wojciech Zieliński.
For jazz and classical music fans who want to hear Chopin revisited with orchestra and improvisation.
