«Clarinet Sonatas Op. 120» is the album by Johannes Brahms performed by Michel Portal and Georges Pludermacher, released in 2009 by Harmonia Mundi on CD.
Brahms's two sonatas for clarinet and piano that form Op. 120, performed by Michel Portal on clarinet and Georges Pludermacher on piano, show the dialogue between both instruments in a romantic chamber register. Sonata No. 1 and Sonata No. 2 offer contrasts of character and demand expressive balance.
Reissue of a disc with catalog number HMA 195904, within the Musique d'abord collection from Harmonia Mundi.
For classical music enthusiasts, especially chamber music and performances by clarinetist Michel Portal.
