«Core» is the debut album by American band Stone Temple Pilots, released on CD by Atlantic Records in 1992.
The debut album by Stone Temple Pilots condenses the grunge and alternative rock of the early nineties into a sound of dense guitars and shifts in intensity. «Plush», «Sex Type Thing» and «Wicked Garden» show both their most aggressive and most melodic sides, with lyrics dealing with alienation, confusion and the search for identity.
The CD, released on September 29, 1992, includes 12 songs and was produced by Brendan O'Brien.
Will appeal to listeners of the nineties rock scene who want to hear Stone Temple Pilots at their beginnings.
