«Haydn & Vancea» is the classical music album by the George Enescu String Quartet, released in 2013 by CD Baby on CD.
The album features a historic recording by the George Enescu String Quartet: a work by Haydn and String Quartet No. 7 by Zeno Vancea, composed in 1979. This version, worked on with the composer himself, is the world premiere recording of the work and is based on the original manuscript score, which later disappeared.
A single CD; recording made in August 1980 in Brașov (Romania) and restored from the original tape. It is the only surviving recording of the quartet.
For chamber music enthusiasts and collectors of historic recordings with documentary value.
