«Kind Of Parker» is a Charlie Parker jazz compilation released in 2007 by T2 Entertainment as a 10-CD box set.
The box set traces Charlie Parker's career through ten themed CDs, featuring studio recordings, performances at Birdland and small-format sessions. It includes collaborations with Miles Davis and Dizzy Gillespie, and saxophonist classics such as «Billie's Bounce», «Anthropology» and «Ornithology», representative of his role in the birth of bebop.
The recordings span from 1940 to 1954, with Parker as leader and as sideman, and include material from the Dial and Savoy labels.
It serves as an introduction to Charlie Parker for those unfamiliar with him and also as a broad overview for jazz enthusiasts interested in his career.
