«La Revancha del Tango» is the debut album by Gotan Project, released in 2001 on CD.
Gotan Project fuses Argentine tango with electronic music, combining the passion and melancholy of the genre with modern arrangements. The album includes ten tracks, among which «Queremos Paz», «Época» and «Santa María (Del Buen Ayre)» stand out, three pieces that sum up that crossover between the River Plate tradition and electronic textures.
Production was handled by Philippe Cohen Solal, Christoph H. Müller and Eduardo Makaroff; the catalogue number is YAB013CD.
For listeners of electronic, trip-hop and Latin music who want to discover tango from a contemporary perspective.
