«Leçons de ténèbres» is the baroque music album by Michel-Richard de Lalande, with soprano Isabelle Desrochers, released on CD in 2007.
The «Leçons de ténèbres» are a central work of eighteenth-century French sacred music, a set of liturgical lamentations for soprano and instruments. Isabelle Desrochers's version stands out for its ornate singing, the expressiveness of the text and a sober, meditative atmosphere, faithful to the baroque spirit.
Recording on a single CD, number 06 in the «Voix Baroque» series; reissued edition.
For fans of French baroque music and the soprano voice in eighteenth-century sacred repertoire.
