«Live in California» is the live compilation album by the Gerry Mulligan Quartet, released in 2006 by Giant Steps Recordings, as a double CD.
It brings together concert recordings by the Gerry Mulligan Quartet made in California between 1952 and 1954. Gerry Mulligan is accompanied by Chet Baker on trumpet, Lee Konitz and Jon Eardley, and the ensemble shows the saxophone-trumpet dialogue characteristic of cool jazz.
The edition contains 35 tracks on two discs, released alongside Cherry Red Records; reference GSCR 015.
For listeners of cool jazz and historical West Coast jazz recordings.
