«Lully: Grands Motets, Vol. 3» is the baroque music album by Jean-Baptiste Lully performed by Le Concert Spirituel, released in 2000 by Naxos on CD.
The CD brings together grand motets composed for the Royal Chapel, with psalm texts such as Exaudiat te Dominus and Notus in Judea Deus, as well as the Benedictus. Le Concert Spirituel, conducted by Hervé Niquet, deploys choral and instrumental textures in five or ten voices and shades of orchestral color that illuminate the meaning of the text.
Recorded at IRCAM in Paris in November 1994; includes 17 tracks and belongs to the Musique à Versailles collection of the Centre de Musique Baroque. Catalogue number: 8.554399.
For fans of French baroque sacred repertoire and performances by Le Concert Spirituel.
