«Minimalist» is the minimalist music album by the London Chamber Orchestra, released on CD by Virgin in 1990, featuring works by Adams, Glass, Reich and Heath.
The disc brings together key pieces of contemporary minimalism performed by the London Chamber Orchestra, with compositions by John Adams, Philip Glass, Steve Reich and Dave Heath. Throughout the album, the repetitive structures and hypnotic textures characteristic of this style combine in a program offering a representative sample of the minimalist repertoire of the late 20th century.
