«Pièces de violes 1728» is the album by Jordi Savall featuring works by François Couperin, released in 1988 by Astrée Auvidis, on CD.
The album brings together works for viola da gamba composed by François Couperin and published in 1728, in a chamber version with Jordi Savall on viola da gamba, Ton Koopman on harpsichord and Ariane Maurette on viol. The ornate writing and the dialogue between strings and keyboard define this French Baroque music, performed on period instruments.
For fans of Baroque music, the viola da gamba and Jordi Savall's historically informed recordings.
