«Porgy & Bess» is the jazz compilation by Miles Davis, released in 2010 by Not Now Music as a double CD.
«Porgy & Bess» draws from Gershwin's celebrated musical and documents the sessions Miles Davis recorded in New York in July and August 1958. With arrangements by Gil Evans, the repertoire is approached from a modal standpoint, far from the harmonic complexity of bebop, shaping one of the most celebrated collaborations between trumpeter and arranger.
Digitally remastered compilation on double CD with two additional albums; reference NOT2CD338, European edition.
Recommended for fans of classic jazz and Miles Davis's historic recordings.
