«Prokofiev: Symphonies N° 6 Op. 111 - N° 1 Op. 25» is the album by Prokofiev with Mstislav Rostropovich, released in 1988 by Erato on CD.
The disc brings together two symphonies by Prokofiev: the Sixth, Op. 111, in E-flat minor, and the First, Op. 25, in D major, known as the «Clásica». The recording, with Rostropovich leading the Orchestre National de France, contrasts the emotional complexity of the Sixth with the wit and lightness of the First.
CD edition for the French market, with French-language cover.
For classical music listeners interested in modern symphonic repertoire and Rostropovich's interpretations.
