«Šaban» is the album by Mostar Sevdah Reunion and Šaban Bajramović, released in 2007 by Indie Europe/Zoom on CD.
The project brings together the Bosnian ensemble Mostar Sevdah Reunion with the voice of Šaban Bajramović, a major figure in Balkan Romani music. Over traditional sevdah, the album adds gypsy jazz and swing, with pieces ranging from melancholy to celebration. It includes «Shtar Luludja», «Shukar Feriza» and «Bele ruže».
Release date: April 13, 2007. Sung in Bosnian. CD album edition in digibook, with one disc.
Will appeal to fans of Balkan Romani music and gypsy jazz; the Bosnian lyrics do not prevent appreciating the power of the voice.
