«Silk Road II» is the electronic music album by Kitaro, released in 1985 by Gramavision on CD.
«Silk Road II» is inspired by the ancient trade route that linked East and West. Kitaro's music combines synthesizers, ambient passages and echoes of Japanese tradition, with a contemplative tone that suggests deserts, caravans and distant cultures. It is the second installment of the Silk Road series and works as an evocative soundtrack.
The album «Silk Road II» originally appeared in 1983; the 1985 US reissue carries catalog number 18-7011-2.
Intended for new age fans who appreciate Kitaro's instrumental music, and for followers of the artist.
