«Symphonies Nos. 3 & 4 / Manfred Overture» is the compilation by Robert Schumann, released in 1992 by Sony Classical on CD, conducted by Rafael Kubelik.
It brings together Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major 'Rhenish' and Symphony No. 4 in D minor by Robert Schumann, with the 'Manfred' overture. The 'Rhenish', in five movements, evokes the Rhine landscape, and the Fourth is an example of German Romanticism; the overture closes dramatically.
1979 recordings digitally remastered for the Essential Classics series, with the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks; total duration: 76'13''.
For classical music lovers interested in Romantic symphonies and in Rafael Kubelik's interpretations.
