«The Wall» is the double album by the British progressive rock band Pink Floyd, originally released in 1979 and reissued on CD in 1994.
The record tells the story of Pink, a rock star who shuts himself behind a metaphorical wall to protect himself from pressure and the pain of his past. With a rock opera approach, it addresses alienation and isolation, with a critical look at authority, and includes «Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2» and «Comfortably Numb».
The double CD edition of «The Wall», on the EMI label, corresponds to the 1994 European reissue.
For fans of progressive rock and conceptual albums of the seventies.
