«Trio für Violine, Horn und Klavier» is the chamber music album by György Ligeti, released in 1993 by Wergo on CD.
It brings together chamber works composed between 1968 and 1982 in which Ligeti explores conventional instruments from a personal perspective. It includes the Trio for violin, horn and piano, hypnotic-textured harpsichord pieces such as Continuum and Hungarian Rock, and an ironic work for two pianos.
Features Saschko Gawriloff, Hermann Baumann, Elisabeth Chojnacka, Eckart Besch, Antonio Ballista and Bruno Canino. The production received the quarterly prize of the German Record Critics' Award.
For those who enjoy contemporary classical music and twentieth-century chamber repertoire.
