«XO» is Elliott Smith's fourth studio album, released in 1998 by DreamWorks Records on CD.
The record takes Elliott Smith from lo-fi toward a more polished production: acoustic guitars, keyboards and string arrangements wrap his melancholic lyrics. His voice stands out on «Sweet Adeline», «Waltz #2 (XO)» and «Pitseleh»; the closing «I Didn't Understand» is almost a cappella.
Album with 14 songs and a running time of 45 minutes, produced by Tom Rothrock, Rob Schnapf and Elliott Smith.
For fans of indie rock and singer-songwriter pop who value melancholic lyrics.
