«26 Fairmount Avenue» is Tomie De Paola's children's memoir, published by Scholastic in paperback (57 pages, in English).
Tomie De Paola evokes his childhood at 26 Fairmount Avenue: in 1938 his family builds a new house while a hurricane hits the town. Between chocolate with his grandmother, his attempts to skip kindergarten, and a trip to the movie theater to see 'Snow White', the author composes a funny portrait of his childhood, illustrated by himself.
First installment of the «26 Fairmount Avenue» series, written and illustrated by Tomie De Paola. Winner of the Newbery Honor.
Recommended for young readers aged about 8 to 10 who are starting to read chapters.
Thomas Anthony "Tomie" dePaola was an American writer and illustrator who created more than 260 children's books, such as Strega Nona. He received the Children's Literature Legacy Award for his lifetime contribution to American children's literature in 2011.
