«A escondidas» is the short story collection by Iban Zaldua, published by Páginas de espuma in paperback (160 pages, in Spanish).
Stories in which Zaldua manipulates reality until it becomes uncanny: someone reads to fall asleep while being imagined by another, some gudaris during the Civil War, a Kafka who survives his own death, a box of silkworms, and a planned death on a social network. Reading and writing appear as paths toward fantastic fiction.
Volume 350 of the Voces / Literatura collection from Páginas de espuma. A escondidas comes from the author's Basque-language work Inon ez, inoiz ez, published in 2014.
For readers of contemporary short fiction who enjoy irony, the uncanny, and games between fiction and reality.
