«Al camp» is the children's book by Josep M. Parramón and Maria Rius, published by Parramón in paperback (32 pages, in Catalan).
Two children gather vegetables in a cultivated field: the girl carries a basket of produce while the boy pushes a cart full of vegetables. The illustrations, protagonists of the narrative, show rural life and invite observation of nature.
Part of the «Primera biblioteca dels nens» collection; the back cover indicates it is recommended for ages 4 and up.
For early readers beginning to discover the countryside and nature through images.
Maria Rius was a Catalan prisoner support activist and anarchist militant. She organised numerous prison escapes during the time of the dictatorship of Primo de Rivera. After the proclamation of the Second Spanish Republic, she stormed a women's prison in Barcelona and agitated for amnesty for political prisoners. She fought on the Aragon front during the Spanish Civil War, before fleeing into exile in France.
