«Alfonso XIII» is the biography of the eponymous monarch by Alfonso Osorio and Gabriel Cardona, published by Ediciones B in paperback (243 pages, in Spanish).
Born a king and posthumous son of Alfonso XII, Alfonso XIII fully assumed the crown in 1902. The work reviews his public life from the acceptance of Primo de Rivera's dictatorship in 1923 to the exile of 1931, and offers the authors' contrasting views on his lights and shadows.
It belongs to the «Cara & Cruz» collection, with black-and-white photographs and an index of bibliographic references.
For readers interested in the contemporary history of Spain and in biographies of its kings, with a dual perspective that allows contrasting interpretations.
