«Apócrifos del Libro» is a work of narrative and literary glosses by Emilio Pascual, published by Alianza in hardcover (160 pages, in Spanish).
Emilio Pascual writes glosses on biblical passages without imitating the sacred authors or claiming divine inspiration. Each chapter is a lyrical and ironic variation on those texts, with echoes of Cervantes, Borges, Rilke or Neruda, and Javier Serrano's illustrations dialogue with the glosses in an exercise of literature about literature.
Published in 2004. Belongs to the Alianza Literaria collection. Javier Serrano, National Illustration Award winner, signs the illustrations.
Reading for those who enjoy narrative that dialogues with other works and with the biblical tradition from an ironic perspective.
