«Aux confins du monde» is the fourth part of «Min kamp», Karl Ove Knausgård's autobiography, published by Denoël in paperback (656 pages, in French).
At eighteen, Karl Ove Knausgård settles as a teacher in a fishing village in the Arctic Circle, intending to save money to travel and write. The polar night extinguishes inspiration; alcohol and disappointments mark his days. Flashbacks to his adolescence trace his father's shadow in this chronicle of the transition to adulthood.
The original title is «Min kamp 4»; the work was originally published in 2010. French translation by Marie-Pierre Fiquet.
Appeals to readers of «Min kamp» and fans of contemporary Scandinavian autobiographical narrative.
