José, a university professor specializing in the Spanish Civil War, returns to his hometown, León, after years of absence. There, he resumes the custom of having weekly lunches with his parents. During one of these visits, he discovers his father playing an imaginary game of seven and a half with his fellow soldiers who died on the front lines more than sixty years ago, when he was only seventeen. This revelation triggers a series of events that will reveal his father's story and the complexity of his own feelings towards him. The climax comes during a walk through the city, when his father is confronted by a man who accuses him of having murdered his own. Faced with this accusation, the father can only stammer the word "forgiveness." Is it possible that his father is a murderer, capable of participating in the cold-blooded death of a man in front of his young son?
