«Ballar amb els núvols» is the children's picture book by Vanina Starkoff, published by Kalandraka Editora in hardcover (48 pages, in Catalan).
A girl goes out every morning to watch the clouds, hoping to dance with them. Her mother tells her that only birds can touch them, but she does not give up her wish. The story follows the growth of a town that keeps gaining inhabitants, with illustrations evoking Latin America, and offers a reflection on cultural exchange, integration and mutual respect.
It belongs to the «Llibres per a somniar» collection from Kalandraka. This book was a finalist for the III International Compostela Prize for picture books in 2010.
A reading for children that invites sharing values such as empathy, integration and respect for diversity with family or in the classroom.
