«Frederick» is the children's picture book by Leo Lionni, published by Kalandraka in hardcover (40 pages, in Spanish).
While the other mice store food for winter, Frederick prefers to gather sunrays, colors and words. When the cold bites and supplies dwindle, Frederick turns those memories into stories and poems that comfort the group, showing that imagination also nourishes.
The work belongs to Kalandraka's «libros para soñar» collection and is illustrated by Leo Lionni himself.
Designed for children aged 4 to 8, its message about creativity also reaches adult readers.

Leo Lionni was an American writer and illustrator of children's books. Born in the Netherlands, he moved to Italy and lived there before moving to the United States in 1939, where he worked as an art director for several advertising agencies, and then for Fortune magazine. He returned to Italy in 1962 and started writing and illustrating children's books. In 1962, his book Inch by Inch was awarded the Lewis Carroll Shelf Award.
