«Bastardos reales» is the historical essay by Juan Manuel González Cremona, published by Planeta in paperback (218 pages, in Spanish).
The author rescues the illegitimate children of the kings of Spain, great unknowns of history. Through a selection of biographies, he shows how these women and men born in clandestine bedrooms earned their own place, with episodes of ambition, scandal and power. It includes figures such as Margaret of Parma and John Joseph of Austria.
It is part of the Memoria de la Historia collection. The edition is the third and includes bibliographic references and an index.
Aimed at readers interested in the history of Spain and in figures marginalized by historiography.
